Frequently Asked Questions
-Stairlifts-
Does a stairlift attach to the wall?
All of the stairlifts I install attach directly to the treads of the steps. There are usually just 4 bracket points for standard lifts.
What if the power goes out?
Most all stairlifts now are battery powered. They only require a regular outlet to keep the batteries charged. There is no need to unplug because the charger will automatically switch to a maintenance voltage. If the power goes out it will generally give you about 10 round trips before they require a charge.
How long does a stairlift take to install?
I am usually in and out in 3-4 hours for a standard lift and will typically need a full day for a custom curved lift. I will go over all the necessary safety and operational features of the lift after install.
Do I need a permit?
The state of Georgia does require a permit and inspection of all in-home stairlifts and elevators. We will take care of necessary paperwork and scheduling in that regard.
What if two people in the home need to use the lift?
We include remote controls to send the unit up or down to your partner. Or to send laundry for them to fold!
